Chocolate Mousse

Yield: 6 servings (1/2 cup)

Ingredients

Add (5 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate, melted to shopping list 1 pkg. (5 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Add egg yolks, slightly beaten to shopping list 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten

Add heavy cream to shopping list 1/4 cup heavy cream

Add vanilla extract to shopping list 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add egg whites to shopping list 3 egg whites

Add granulated sugar to shopping list 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions:

Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave oven. Remove from heat.

Combine egg yolks and cream and gradually add chocolate, stirring rapidly. Add vanilla and mix well.

Beat egg whites with sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold egg whites into chocolate mixture.

Spoon mousse into decorative mold or individual dessert cups. Chill at least 2 hours.
