Sweet and Sour Green Beans

Yield: 8 - 10 servings

Ingredients

Add bacon strips to shopping list 4 bacon strips

Add chopped onion to shopping list 1/2 cup chopped onion

Add flour to shopping list 2 tablespoons flour

Add water to shopping list 3/4 cup water

Add vinegar to shopping list 1/3 cup vinegar

Add sugar to shopping list 2 tablespoons sugar

Add cooked green beans, drained to shopping list 6-8 cups cooked green beans, drained

Directions:

In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of drippings. Crumble the bacon and set aside. Saute the onion in drippings until tender. Stir in flour until thoroughly combined. Add water, vinegar and sugar. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly; cook and stir 2 minutes more. Gently stir in beans and heat through. Sprinkle with bacon. Serve immediately.
