Deep Dish Brownies

Yield: 16 brownies

Ingredients

Add (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted to shopping list 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted

Add sugar to shopping list 1-1/2 cups sugar

Add vanilla extract to shopping list 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Add eggs to shopping list 3 eggs

Add all-purpose flour to shopping list 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

Add cocoa to shopping list 1/2 cup cocoa

Add baking powder to shopping list 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Add salt to shopping list 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 inch square baking pan. Blend butter, sugar and vanilla in medium bowl. Add eggs; using spoon, beat well.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to egg mixture, beating until well blended. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares.
