Swedish Sugar Toast

Want to share some love? Cut bread to resemble hearts.

Yield: Up to 36 slices

Ingredients

Add granulated sugar to shopping list 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Add ground cinnamon to shopping list 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Add ground cardamom to shopping list 1 teaspoon ground cardamom

Add ground cloves to shopping list 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Add Butter, softened to shopping list Butter, softened

Add sliced white bread to shopping list 1 loaf sliced white bread

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

In a small bowl, combine sugar, cardamom and cloves.

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread; sprinkle sugar mixture on buttered side.

Place on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10 minutes.

Serve warm.

Serve with warm syrup or sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

Note: Sugar mixture can be made ahead and used as needed. Store in an airtight container.
