Add orange liqueur to shopping list 3 Tablespoons orange liqueur

Add navel orange, sliced to shopping list 1 navel orange, sliced

Add lemon, sliced to shopping list 1 lemon, sliced

Add ripe peaches, cut into wedges to shopping list 2 ripe peaches, cut into wedges

Add ripe plums, cut into wedges to shopping list 3 ripe plums, cut into wedges

Add cinnamon sticks to shopping list 2 cinnamon sticks

Add (750 ml) red Rioja or other dry red wine to shopping list 1 bottle (750 ml) red Rioja or other dry red wine

Add Sparkling water, chilled to shopping list Sparkling water, chilled

Directions:

Combine sugar, rum, orange liqueur, fruits, and cinnamon sticks in a large pitcher. Stir to dissolve sugar. Pour in wine, cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Just before serving, spoon fruits from pitcher into tall glasses, add ice, and pour over spiced wine. Top glasses of Sangria off with a splash of soda water
